COVID Summer

Once upon a time

Summers were easy

Flip flops and walks

To the corner store

Now boarded

Now abandoned

We awake heavy

Marine layer thick

Memory and dream

Tangled in a distant sweet.

May you one day

find your way back

Open into that smooth sweetness,

Lost familiar ease.
